New Laptop, extremely slow, starting it up takes for ever. Windows 8, its a HP ENvy. what do I do?

very slow at startup. takes for ever for web browser to load. Absolutely everything is slow on this laptop. I have Kaspersky antivirus on it and noting seems to work right. I have removed a lot of useless software that came with it. I was using a lot of memory but still that did not work. thanks

Open msconfig and click the startup tab
Disable all the startup files that aren't related to windows and reboot

You can also use the program called ccleaner to clean out your temporary internet folder and fix registry errors

Use a program called defraggler to defragment your hard drive for optimal speed as well
