New laptop has long, unusual shutdown

I just bought a new Lenovo Y50 about a week ago. However, the shutdown is really strange and takes a long time. The screen goes black quickly enough, however the LED's and the fan stay on for at least another minute, sometimes longer, before the computer shuts down for real. I am running windows 8.1 right now. I don't know what is wrong. Please help!

Maybe it's updating that's why the shutdown is running slow

I also had the similar problem but it was solved after removing indexing from the c drive (windows drive). Now my laptops shuts down immediately after the screen goes off.
