I just bought the following laptop:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y4GZS9C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

After some testing I was disappointed with the laptops performance, I ran a benchmark and saw that the video memory was only running at 810Mhz and according to the gtx 1060 6gb specs it should run at 8100Mhz. The core clock is running at about what it's supposed to, it's just the video memory that is slacking. Any suggestions? Or should I just return it? Thanks, Tony

What was the score for the benchmark compared to other 1060 laptop cards? What is this mystery benchmark you ran? Did you try it with a game and check the FPS you get, and compare that to other systems with the same video card? Run 3DMark?

Run a game yourself and use the GC code system:

10 FPS or less is your max: That thing is messed up.
10-20 FPS is your max: Get it fixed or checked.
20-30 FPS is your max: Not very good.
30-40 FPS is your max: Try overclocking.
40-50 FPS is your max: Okay.
50-60 FPS is your max: Acceptable.
60-70 FPS is your max: It works well.
70-80 FPS is your max: Good gaming rig.
80 FPS or more is your max: Bang-for-the-buck performance!
