New Laptop

Hey,

I'm looking for a new laptop, and I need some advise.

So far, I know I would like it to include these components:

- Intel i5-2540M
- 4GB RAM
- HD Graphics
- At LEAST one USB 3.0 port

The system must be able to do/have the following things:

- run programs simultaneously without any lagging (microsoft word + surfing the web, dreamweaver + fireworks, photoshop <----different combinations of these)
- Run for at least 4-5 hours
- Illuminate keyboard
- Keyboard must include number pad
- at least 15" screen size

Does a laptop like this exist or am I just dreaming? My price range is about $1500.

Just knowing what laptop brand/s to focus on would be good 😛

With everything in your list (except USB 3) for about $1100. i5-2540M / HD 3000 graphics 4GB RAM 320GB 7200 RPM HDD
Backlit keyboard, number pad and 15.6" 1600x900 LCD screen. For extended battery life choose the 9cell battery or a spare battery.
Dell Latitude E5520

HP EliteBook 8560p looks like it has everything but the backlit keyboard for $1300. Two USB 3 ports.
It includes the Radeon HD 6470M graphics card which you probably don't need.

Unfortunately, because I'm in australia, technology isn't as up to date here. Unless I get one shipped from the states I can't actually buy one yet 😛 Plus it costs more. That's the only thing I don't like about living in australia - so behind on technology...
