New mobile phone battery not charging

Recently bought a new battery for my B2710 mobile phone, it worked fine to begin with, but it's been on charge overnight and still showing 'low battery' on the screen. Why could this be??

official battery? try another charger?

Have switched to another charger, and so far so good (hopefully!) Wouldn't have thought of trying this Cheers rgd1101!
