*sigh* … That review article was not “Published in the National Institutes of Health” It is merely indexed by PubMed, the website for the NIH’s National Library of Medicine. It was published in a journal called Advanced Materials (from the publisher Wiley.)

The distinction isn’t just academic… people thinking that PubMed = “Published by NIH” are prone to believe papers there are endorsed by the government, when in fact it just means a journal met the minimal criteria to be indexed by their electronic library service. The NIH no more “publishes” it than Google “publishes” TomsHardware because the site shows up in Google searches, or the Library of Congress endorses a book about how Lizard-People control the world, because a book saying so has an ISBN.
