New pair of headphones?

I want to upgrade my current headphones, which are Bose Ae2. They have lasted a very long time but it is time for an upgrade. I am looking for a pair of headphones with a similar fit to the Bose ones I currently have, and my budget is less than $200. I will be using these for gaming so I need good sounds for gaming. Thanks!

For the price, you could maybe try the HD579 from Sennheiser: https://en-us.sennheiser.com/audio-headphones-around-ear-stereo-hd-579. If you want to save money you could try a cheaper model, such as the HD569: https://en-us.sennheiser.com/around-ear-headphones-stereo-mic-hd-569, but it won't have the same details.

For closed headphones, maybe the HD 380 Pro would be worth a look: https://en-us.sennheiser.com/monitoring-headphone-studio-professional-audio-hd-380-pro.

But all these recommendations are relevant if you're not averse to using EQ to get the sound more the way you want it: https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/. Otherwise, you might find them boring by default.
I would recommend adjusting the preamp down equal to the amount of the highest boost you do. And I recommend you not to boost between 80hz and 200hz unless you like rumbling, and not deep, bass.

So, if you want more powerful bass, you can try, say, boosting 40-70hz by 4-5db (and reduce the preamp by this).

You might be surprised by the difference in sound compared to what you have, if you get one of these and do some eq tweaking.
