New to audio.

Today I was messing around and I connected a TV bar with a sub woofer to my desktop. I love the sound. What I want however is just two like bookshelf speakers and a sub. I just don't know what to look for in the way of specs and I'm just wondering what are some 2.1 setups with subs people use! Thanks in advanced!

Logitech and Altec Lansing make good, budget friendly 2.1 kits. Remember more expensive does not always mean it will sound better. Klipsch, Cambridge, Harmon, and Bose make great compact systems but are a bit more expensive. If you plan on using the speakers daily, you may want to invest a little more money.

When you are shopping for a system, you'll want to consider the application. Will this be used solely while you are in front of the computer or will it need to be powerful enough to fill the room?

All this said, the best speaker system is one that fits your budget and sounds good TO YOUR EARS! So if possible, visit some retailers that have systems on display for demo such as Target, Wal-Mart, Staples, and Best Buy. Find some kits that you enjoy and then do some shopping for the best price.

Thank you very much for the suggestions! I'll probably go into Best buy this weekend and see what they have! Never really thought about actually going in and listening... :lol:
