Hello, I bought a nexus 7 a while back and it stopped working so I sent it off and they sent me a new or repaired on.

A few months passed and I got a message saying an update is available to the operating system. I pressed ok and now the thing does not work.

I rang up and they said the company that used to fix them does not anymore so said to ring asus. They said I would be better off just buying a new one as repair is costly.

I am shocked that following an on screen prompt to upgrade has lead to me being told to buy a new one. Any advise would be greatly appreciated; I have tried to whole hold buttons down and follow the instructions but I get no where.

Many Thanks

It is not uncommon for an update to go bad, happens in all devices whether it is andriod, windows, iOS, etc.

When you say it does not work, what does that mean? There are several different points where it might have messed up and depending on that depends on what needs to be done to fix it. Do you get an andorid on the floor, does it bootloop, or what is it that happens when you try to boot it? The fixes range from press a couple buttons at boot up, to do 8 steps with it plugged inot a pc, to your hosed, just depends on what the tablet is doing now.
