Question Nikon AF lens 70-210 mm f4-5 6

I have an old nikon AF 70-210 f4-5.6 lens. I bought a nikon D 7000. I am worried whether this lens will properly
work with my new camera as an auto focus lens and would it ruin my camera if I try it. Thanks

the lens is full compatible with D7000.
