I want to connect can to my laptop with a hdmi cable bt the laptop is not detecting it............can you help me to view pictures and videos on my lapi....

You will use the USB cable and not the HDMI cable to transfer pictures. The HDMI port on your laptop is for HDMI out and cannot be used to view pictures on your laptop. You can use the HDMI cable to connect it to an HD TV.
