Nikon Coolpix L340 - SD Card Issue

I have a brand new L340 that I got for Christmas. I've inserted a new SD card but the camera will only use the internal memory. I don't get any errors, it's almost as if the camera doesn't read or see the card. I can't even reformat the card because the camera doesn't see it.

What should I do?

Yes, we tried the one it came with and when that didn't work we tried one we already had.

Ugh, I was afraid of that. Even if I take it to a camera repair shop, there's nothing they can do?

I have the same problem and I finally found another person who is also suffering. I'm going to break the contract and try to find out if I can fix anything so I'll tell you if I fixed it.

I'm having the same issue. I purchased two separate sd cards that were on the approved list on the Nikon website and the camera will not recognize or format.
