He didn't say the next console wouldn't be HD. In fact, they have said on countless occasions that they would do an HD console once the market was ready. It sure wasn't when the Wii came out. It is now however, so their next console will for sure be HD. He just said they won't be releasing an HD Wii.

Wii sucks, sure it has their fans, (there is something for everyone). But this console is nowhere near the PS3.

(only the 360 is close) not too close in terms of hardware but at least it has games that can compete head to head with PS3.

The only reason that wii had anything for the consumer was/is price.... but with really cheap components... what did you expect?

i definitely agree with reggie. microsoft and sony both deny the existance of motion controllers when the wii was released. now they are in on the trend. how shameful it is for bill gates himself to mock the idea of motion controls and give full extensive support for natal.

Those that don't think Natal is copycat. Um Sony has had the eye toy out for some time, and it recognizes movement to control games. Also many are forgetting that current PS3 controllers are motion sensitive (Bowling Anyone?). It's not that great but Sony has had motion controllers out since the PS3 was released.

Sony added that to their controller after Nintendo's secret was out. In my opinion it is a bad rip off. I own all three consoles and I believe each one has there good and bad points.

What's truly embarrassing is that the Wii has such terrible graphics when compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360,so called "fun" and innovative, tech should have graphics available where you can see the faces features and not just a blob.

Nintendo is the only console still primarily marketed at young children, ages 6~12, who do not care at all about the 'quality' of the visuals but only about how much fun it is, which includes for them the factor of whether or not their parents will buy the games for them. The 360 and PS3 has more games that are 'fun'? Well how many of those are games that the average parent is going to purchase for an eight year old? It doesn't matter how fun it is if you can't get your hands on it in the first place.

"if you can't get your hands on it in the first place.", yeah, just a heads up there, but most eight year olds can tell the difference between a smeared blob and a detailed face, guess which one they prefer, the real looking one.

I hate Nintendo sometimes. "we're leading the industry!" but as soon as anyone follows, they say "lol, copycats".

Sorry nintendo, that's how it works. Both Natal and Move are better than your work, now you're crying about it.

Gaming is moving towards handhelds. Look at DS sales vs console sales.

Consoles are turning into entertainment centers that play dvds, blu rays, streaming media, as well as play games. I don't think Nintendo is comfortable going in that direction. Look at the bonus features of the Wii: a crappy internet browser.

Nintendo's real competition is the iphone/ipod touch/psp.

natal and move may be a copycat but they are going to end up being better due to far superior hardware

The reason the Wii doesn't have HD support is because it was designed to be affordable for anyone who wanted a gaming system. The hardware was designed to cost half what the Xbox and PS3 cost but still be both fun for EVERY age group and innovative.

[citation][nom]Tizmah[/nom]Nintendo is quite stubborn at times..They didn't agree with changing from Cartridge to CDs..Then Midi to Ochestrated..Then they are always wonky with online..Basically, if they didn't do it first, they don't want to use it.

Yhe reason they were slow to go to orchestrated was because of space limitations from still using cartridges. The reason they continued to use cartridges after the PSX was released was related to legal issues between them and Sony since the PSX was originally licensed to be an SNES add-on that was canceled.

Somewhat true.

Of course HD isn't necessary for gaming. Nintendo's aren't necessary for gaming. Heck, games aren't necessary for gaming. Dig a hole in the dirt, now fill it up. Weeeee! But then again, things can be more fun than digging a hole in the dirt.
