I've been a member since 2007, just recently used a different username.
@rawoysters: hey who said stfu first, not I.
@blackmancer: I expect they advertise a new wii skin.

[citation][nom]Shadow703793[/nom]I don't have much problem with the so called news, it's just that I have a problem with the stupid ad and the 3/4 of the Wii games. There are some good games like Brawl and Metroid, but the rest of the Wii games are cr@p, and people still buy it.[/citation]

While I agree that the ad is a bit cheesy and that most wii games suck, the ability to play all the old school games from previous nintendo systems makes the wii worth the buy, for me anyway.

You'll shoot yer eye out, kid.

What I really can't stand, is the people who complain about the people who complain about the people, who complained about the story. That's just piling on.

😉

Boy that advertisement was so great that I was halfway to Best Buy before I thought to myself... "Wow that crazy advertisement had me going out and buying a Wii".

Crazy Nintendo advertisements... crazy crazy... you almost had me... sigh - yup... almost.

You gotta ask yourself then, why ARE people buying it? It doesn't do HD, doesn't play BluRay, etc. but people STILL buy it...could it be because it appeals to a whole new set of game players other than then hardcore fanatics?

You can keep railing against Nintendo, but they realized long ago, that if they can appeal to the casual gamer (and even bring new gamers into the fold) they'ld be rolling in the $$$. Think about it. My 5 yr old can play Mario Kart relatively well - she doesn't win the race or anything but she has fun doing it; what game on the XBox or PlayStation would she have as much fun with?

I'm a hardcore gamer, but I still had a blast playing Wii with my fiancee's family on X-mas eve. Brought everybody together for a couple hours of fun.

Just my $.02 though.

People are buying them because Nintendo has ALWAYS had the best GAMEPLAY of any other system EVER.
There are a lot of systems out there with wicked mint graphics and all but the gameplay is the same as always, run-duck-shoot-kill repeat...
I love 1st person shooters and all but where are the Tetris-like games? the games that use can play for weeks and be totaly into it and the graphics don't matter? like when super mario bros came out?

Well in my opinion nintendo is superior when it comes to fun factor and ease of play. How many games on other systems can say yes to both? I know PC, 360, PS3 all have far more superior graphics but all of those are collecting dust in my household while everyone gathers around the Wii to play easy to pick up goofy games that show not too much gore, and are overall fun... that is the reason why I bought Wii and will continue buying games for it... its just fun for the family.
