The funny thing is that, in truth, ALL consoles are about the "casual gamer." Halo 3: ODST may still be fun, but it is, in the end, a CASUAL shooter. Just like WoW. I cringe when people talk about "Legendary" difficulty in Halo games, or any of the newer Ninja Gaiden games as "hard." They all pale with the difficulty of the games of a decade or two ago, and the whole "checkpoint every 5 seconds" philosophy really feeds into being "casual."
The entire console market is based around casual games. Nintendo just seems to be the company that really admitted it without trying to lie to hardcore gamers, (who all play PC games now anyway) and have benefited from it.
As for the profits... I was WONDERING when, perhaps, the recession would catch up to them. Oh, and their price cut. We'll see if the sales volumes will change as a result this season. It might or might not.

So you're the "DSPSPiWii3603" fanboy. 😛 (though I still preferred the sound of "XcubeStation," darn you Nintendo)
