I have a digital antenna. Is there anything I can run the coaxile into, to separate the audio signal and then run it into my amp? I tried a vcr but it didn't work

A tuner of some sorts with audio outputs. Perhaps your tv has an audio output.
The audio in a digital tv signal is a compressed Digital Dolby 5.1 AC3 codec signal.
