No audio with Sony DVD and Vizio TV

I have a Sony DVD RMT-D175A hooked up to a Vizio E320-A1. I can see picture via AVE only, but no audio. I'm using a red-white-yellow cable.

That is the model number of your remote for the Sony not the DVD itself.
The Vizio shares the composite and component video inputs so it is easy to connect the red and white audio cables to the component video RCA jacks instead of the audio jacks. Check that.
If the DVD has HDMI make sure that the DVD player menu has the analog RCA audio out turned on.
