no bass from sub

i have power going to the sub but no bass i can feel the speaker work as there are some sounds coming out i've just bought new samsung smart tv all other functions work my home unit is harman kadron AVR151

It won't likely have anything to do with the TV but make sure the TV is set to output in surround sound (Bitstream).
Also make sure that the sub out is turned on in the receiver speaker set up menu. There is a level control there too. Check the level control on the sub too.
