No BIOS Flash for Gateway MX3215

All,

Like the reader before me, I purchased a Gateway MX3215 with 256RAM. I purchased the 1GB, but the computer will not recognize the upgrade. Gateway does not offer a BIOS flash. Can anyone help me?
