No display on laptop.

Hi, i have a NEC versa s940. When i press the power button the laptop turns on but i got no display. All the LEDs are working. The CPU fan turns on and then off after a few seconds.
I tried taking the laptop apart and i found some yellow stuff near the CPU or GPU.

I don't think so. But i haven't used it for quite a while.
What is that yellow substance?

Sorry, I can't see close enough to identify the substance, only a liquid could do that. You can clean it with alcohol, and see if the problem is solve.

That is the question, does this yellow substance has something to do with your problem? Before removing the substance, try the usual troubleshooting, removing the RAM, if you have two, exchange the location and one at a time. If after a few seconds everything is off, try with just the adapter, verify the voltage of the adapter...

I tried all the basic stuff.
Re- seating the CPU and RAM, starting without battery.
The yellow thing is the only thing in my mind.
Oh, i remember when i found this for the first time, i found the same yellow stuff but this one has darker colur. And this one, i can clean it off. It's not hard. But it's sticky almost like a thick thermal paste but it's dark brown
