Who cares. Halflife 2 was a childish snooze-fest. Never completed it, though I loved the first game in the series. RIP Halflife.

You my friend, have no taste in video games. You should stop any kinds of shooters.

On the other hand though, let's say on average 2 out of 7 friends of mine have wanted to play Half-Life 2. And that is really really odd

I loved half-life but at this point im not sure if ill buy valve games again, I dislike waiting this long just to see how a story goes. Dont make it episodic if you dont feel like getting around to finishing the story.

I would love to purchase this game but lately Steam just sucks. Steam has a lot of cool features and they have "sales." That's it. Too many of my friends have had their accounts disabled in the last six months and I just can't support them as a company. I made a purchase in another country (while on business) and had my account disabled. About ~150 games gone with no appeal and no customer service. I just received an email saying my account had been disabled because of evading regional restrictions. I realize that yeah, people can use VPNs to evade high region prices. There are other reasons why it's bad IF someone is a repeat offender. Goodness, I even bought the game using Steams country store.

Valve is a dishonest company. Profitable but ethically dishonest in their business. Steams TOS is crap and they can disable your account for something as simple as encrypting your traffic. Or just because they don't like you. You aren't allowed to use certain firewalls/programs with their service simply because Steam has so many bugs and isn't compatible with anything.

and here I was with a little glimmer of hope that next years e3 would be the one. oh well. I love the HL series and cant wait for 3, but Ill have to agree with ninja. not sure if Ill be able to buy-in to another valve game that promises a story and more than 1 game(at least not until the story is finished).

with all that said, I want valve to continue taking their time on this game so as to make it perfect at release. only thing worse than waiting 10 years for a game is for said game to be underwhelming(Im looking at you duke nukem). I have no doubt that valve will get this game right. but while valve has their half life team working on this game, I wouldnt mind a new IP from the studio as well. valve games have the knack of being better than the rest in their genre(half life in fps, tf2 and CS in multiplayer, L4D in coop, portal in puzzle), I cant wait to see whats next.

Rajangel, they are not a dishonest company, you are doing things which are against their TOS and wether you agree with it or not it exists because those things can be used for illegal purposes, namely circumventing the game security. Don't like it, tough, Apple, MS, Origin, Sony, Nintendo, Google and anyone else have TOS elements to stop people circumventing security. If you are an honest gamer why are you using VPNs and encrypting traffic?

all you people love half-life because of the sense of nostalgia. it was an EXCELLENT game at the time. if you played it then, you could still play it now and enjoy the hell out of it. but by today's standards, it is a BORE-FEST. it is TOO slow paced. the story might be amazing but the gameplay has not aged well.

valve realizes this and is probably why hl3 is being held off indefinetely. at this point, i can care less

Like someone else said, there's an article about HL3 not appearing in any shape or form in 2014, which pretty much tells me that HL3 will be appearing in some shape or form in 2014.

I enjoyed HL and HL2. My main comp still has HL2 and its episodes installed, just in case one day I do decide to finish Ep 2. In all likelihood, I never will, but I might.

I'm not excited about HL3. The landscape has changed so much. If and when it comes, it being available for consoles, doesn't effect my interest in the PC version either positively or negatively. I can't yet imagine what truly new elements could be added to the series to make it a stand-out.

It could end up being open-world, with "shadow of the colossus" boss fights, tomb raider dungeon like levels with puzzles, scripted events like "God of War", press this button now omgz or u die, one button press instant kills while sneaking, oh yeah, splinter cell type stealth missions, and AI controlled companions that either aid you in battle, or must be escorted to safety... Hmmm...

I hope HL3 brings brand new tech that wows the eye, living, breathing environments, and a new level of quality to enemy artificial intelligence. Let's hope if I can see an enemy, it can see me too and reacts accordingly lol.

The hopes and expectations for a HL3 might be too high, and leave the developers second-guessing their decisions throughout the entire development.

Let HL3 go, get over it, HL is Grampa's game. And sorry Grampa can't seem to make it to the toilet on his own let alone comprehend his existence anymore. Stop asking Valve for recycled crap and let them concentrate on fixing and or making Steam better as well make it easier for better games to be published!

@Troll: well at least you live up to your screen name. As someone else pointed out here, not everyone is into you short-attention-span Mountain-Dew chugging never-had-a-girlfriend zit-faced COD type games where the brain is a terrible waste to use.
