no hdmi output to tv

Ive connected my pc to my tv through hdmi cable.
The tv shows video but no audio.
My control panel/audio options only shows the external pc speakers.
I know at home this options panel shows two options, pc tpeakers and tv.

I want my audio through the tv speakers instead of the only option shown in the link..

What graphics card? Is the graphics driver installed?

Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT. Ive installed the drivers from nvidea wesite and it sais updates are installed correctly..

I thougt hdmi sends both video and audio. I only have connected a hdmi cable now.. So i especially need a digital audio s/PDIF cable if iwant all sound on my tv?

Check firstly if the motherboard has an spdif output.
