No sound at all

[strike][/strike]DV-6 HP laptop battery release broken and was repaired. Subsequently discovered no sound, none. Troubleshooting reveals no software or OS issues. Might tech have compromised speakers?

The speakers may have been inadvertently disconnected while the system was disassembled.
