Question No sound coming from headphones with Numark M2 - help!

Hey hey,

So I'm new to mixing and was gifted a Numark M2 mixer. I have my two turntables hooked through my mixer and from my mixer to my receiver. My speakers are connected through my receiver.

Turntables sound great through both speakers but when I hook up my headphones to cue between tracks, I can't hear anything! I'm sure I have something hooked up wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Receiver is an Insignia NS-STR 516 receiver. Is the answer to get power speakers?

You are hooking the headphones up to the receiver? Does it have a separate output selection for headphones? Or are the headphones on the mixer? Maybe the volume is too low on that?
