Hi!

Got a Asus ROG G771JM a week ago, and could really use your input.
So far the laptop is awesome, and runs awesomely anything I throw at it.

I've been checking the temps, and the 860m runs at about 40 - 45 ºC when idle and at a peek of 85 ºC when gaming. Are these normal/acceptable? I am thinking about getting a cooling pad, but would like your opinion on whether these temps are to be expected.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Those temperatures are what I would call extremely normal, I will still recommend the use of a cooling pad when gaming since heat is the "enemy" of all things electric, keeping the temps down will help extend the life of the components.
