Not Enough Speaker Inputs In Receiver

I have and old set of center and surround speakers, JVC SP-X20 but my receiver has two speaker inputs. A friend managed to make it work long ago. Now I am trying to set it up and I can't figure out how he did it. Can you help?

If by "two speaker inputs" you mean a single pair of left and right speaker outputs then you can hook up the surround speakers to these connections. If the receiver is not surround sound and does not have a center channel speaker connection then you cannot use the center.
