not uploading to computer

I am trying to upload new pictures from my camera to my computer using the USB cord and it tells me there are no new pictures. I don't understand because I do it all the time.

Do the pictures show up on the camera? If so, try taking out the card and using a card reader instead. Did you try simply turning the camera one and off and trying again? Or rebooting the computer? Or maybe you already uploaded the files.
