Notebook does not detect my HDD what can i do to fix it?

Hi guys so i bought a new notebook the asus 1050BX it had windows 7 ultimate but it was too heavy for the notebook to handle and it was very slow so i was going to buy windows 7 starter from my local store then i saw the ubuntu OS and i decided to install it at the place of windows 7 so i installed it and it was all fine when suddenly one day i turned off the notebook after watching a movie and went to bed and the next morning when i tried to boot it up it directly redirected me in the bios i checked and the HDD wasn't detected i tried to install Linux Mint but when i came in the installation tab it said that there is no HDD for the OS to be installed so i hope i can get help from you guys.

sounds like you need a new hard drive... they do fail, just like any electronic, at some point.
try pulling the drive, connecting it to a working computer and running seatools to test it.

how old is the laptop as maybe still under warranty?
