Nvidia 362.00 driver Installer failed on GTX 870M

Hello everyone,

I have been experiencing problems installing passed two drivers which are 361.91 and 362.00. Geforce Experience keeps notifying me about there is a new update available for my adapter. So I proceeded and installed the driver downloaded from GeForce Experience that drivers both 361.91 and 362.00 are failed to installed. So i tried to solve the problem from the information i could find online but failed to solve the problem.

  I downloaded this driver manually from nvidia choosing my adapter and OS

  After this attempt i figured that the old driver of my GTX 870M is gone

  Here I wanted to check if my adapter is listed for this driver.

  There seems to be no file named nvdm.inf but there is nvdmi.inf instead (I don't think that's the problem but seemed kind of odd to me)

  I assume this is where my adapter should be listed

I get no error code only error message that Nvidia installer is failed. Since Geforce Experience and Nvidia Website refers me to this driver I assume my adapter is suitable to this driver. I am using 361.43 driver which work just fine.

this problem is really bugging me. I really appreciate any help i can get.

when you go to install the driver, have you tried doing a clean install? perhaps there is a old driver that isn't letting it update.

Well i tried clean install option from the nvidia installer. But if there is another way you might suggest I can try that as well.

I Also use an 870m and have had the exact same problem, I've tried everything to no avail, did you ever find a solution?
