Question Old and confused

Hi, like the header says I am a little lost. In the past I am sure that I installed all streaming apps such as "The Crew" on kodi. Is that correct? Some step by step instructions say to install some on Firestick, not Kodi. Do certain apps need installation on Firestick rather than Kodi?

A base Firestick from Amazon does not support just random app installations that don't come from the Amazon app store. Thanks for your response. I do have the firestick jailbreaked. I usually get step by step install directions from sites like "firesticktricks" Sometimes a site will give instruction to install on firestick, sometimes Kodi. Just lost on which to choose now because in the past most everything went on Kodi.
