Old HDTV without HDMI

I have an old HDTV without an HDMI port (only VGA). Is there a convertor I can use to upgrade to a Smart TV (Chromecast)?

No. The tv has to have wifi/ethernet built into it.

Uh, the point of Chromecast is you can use it on a TV without a network connection.

What's the TV? Does it have a DVI port?

You can connect a Roku 1 which has old school av outputs. It will have many more channels than the Chromecast and be the same price since you don't need any adapters.
