Is it possible to hook up receiver, blueray and tv with option of not having surround sound when you want to watch tv?

Hookup is the same. Just select "stereo" on the surround sound receiver on the TV input. Most receivers will default to the last "mode" you used so if you select stereo for the TV input it will default to it every time.
