They are legally bound to honor the sales. Nothing altruistic about it.

The difference at a garage sale is that the deal is made at the time of transaction (goods for money). When shopping online, the deal is made when you enter your payment info and press "submit order."

If you order something online and then it goes on sale the next day, or you find it on another site or store for cheaper, do you think you are legally entitled to the cost difference? Nope. Not a chance. Same thing here, only in reverse!

Let me give you an example...

I was about to purchase a $1500 LED TV from them (LG model) and it was only for $149! You bet your ass I tried to purchase it as fast as my fingers could crunch. Alas though, it already went OOS. Too bad, that would have looked nice in Eyefinity ;).
