Depending on the kind of gaming you do and the cost, I'd try and max the specs out to get the best performance, i.e. 7200rpm hard drive and i5 540m. With that I think you would be good to go for medium settings on the more demanding games.

AMD Radeon HD 6570M

AMD Radeon HD 6770M

For gaming, yes.
GT 540M and Radeon HD 6570M are close in GPU performance but might come with a better CPU.
GT 550M & HD 6770M have a nice performance boost over the HD 5730,
