well,considering you're using it for gaming,the GPU is a bit dated GTX 870M, latest gen GTX 970M and especially GTX 980M are whole head above it,however it's still a decent gaming laptop

for $1200 its alright, but if you can stretch your budget to $1330, you should look at the sager 8651; with an OS it costs that much and packs the same spec but has a gtx 970M - the 970M beats the 880M, so its a huge improvement

It is always possible to spend a bit more for better. If I were buying a laptop today in your price range, I'd be on rice and beans trying to afford a GTX970M.
