Orbit Downloader Downloads Only Two Files at a Time

It seems that the default settings of your instance of Orbit Downloader have been modified either by any incompatible application, or by any other user who might have access to your computer.

By default the Orbit Downloader is configured to support up to 5 download processes simultaneously. In your case, if only two simultaneous downloads are supported by your instance of the program, you can manually change the figures.

Before proceeding any further, you must keep in mind that if the supported number of simultaneous downloads are increased, the chances are that the overall Internet bandwidth consumption would increase as well. This further means that if the Orbit Downloader is downloading only two files at a time, the files may get downloaded in lesser time. Whereas when the number of simultaneous downloads are increased, it may take additional time to get all the files downloaded on your computer.

All in all, you can increase the number of simultaneous downloads at the cost of extra time that the Orbit Downloader would take to download the files.

After following the instructions given in this tutorial, you will be able to configure your instance of Orbit Downloader to support up to 5 or even more simultaneous downloads at a single given time.

Here is what you need to do:

■Log on to the computer on which Orbit Downloader is installed.

■Initialize the Orbit Downloader program if it was not already started during the Windows boot process.

■Once initialized, right-click the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the computer screen.

■From the displayed context menu, go to Preferences.





■On the opened Preferences box, from the left pane, click to select the Limits category.

■From the right pane, in the Max simultaneous jobs field, specify the number of simultaneous downloads that you want your instance of Orbit Downloader to support. (5 for this demonstration).





■Once this is done, click OK to save the changes.

■Restart the Orbit Downloader application in order to allow the changes to take effect.

■If the changes are still not reflected, restart the computer and then try again.
