Two trolls on the same thread, and the last one knew not what he read!

It was the conservative Bush who in 2005 disbanded the CIA ops to get him, and who said he was "no longer concerned about" bin Laden. But, it was the liberal Obama who showed some guts and took care of business. It is shameful that morons have to turn something like this into a partisan issue...we got the mother *&$^@*& and so let's just be happy, and work to overcome this world of fear he helped create.

Joke 1: Not even Bin laden was safe from Google's location tracking!

Joke 2: Forget about the CIA and enhanced interrogation, just Google him!

ok, i'm done...

[citation][nom]aaron88_7[/nom]It took a liberal to kill Bin Laden after republicans let him get away. Now did you have a point to make, or just mindless troll baiting?[/citation]

Partially true. Being that it was a liberal president, I would think most would be jumping for joy. However, it was Bush era tactics that got the intel. As a libertarian who has HUGE problems with Obama, I still give credit where it's due. He gave the order and it was successful. USA FTW.

Lame I already found his compound last night on Google Earth... haha beat you to it Google, anyway what I would really like to see them do is get some updated photos of the compund on Google Earth...

You do realize Clinton was offered him twice and passed on taking him out.

Without the intel from Gitmo, this wouldn't have happened.

Politics aside, it was Seal Team 6 who took him out, Obama wasn't the trigger man.

Actually, if you read the intel it was only after they quit water boarding that the prisoners began to open up, The CIA has since said the water boarding is an ineffective way to gather intelligence, The current administration gathered the intel, and put it to good use.

Your probably too young to personally remember this, but after our little Somalia incident the American public had no appetite for any major foreign military excursions. Clinton did all that the public would allow him to do which he did when he launched military strikes on terrorist camps.

You can drink all the republican cool-aid you want but the fact of the matter is that Bush let Bin Laden get away and Obama finished the job. Seal Team 6 can only do what they are commanded to do, so you are wrong because without Obama's command to launch the attack they wouldn't have done anything. You do realize the military has a command structure, right? You don't just grab a gun and jump in a helicopter like the video games, you can't even fire a gun without proper authorization.

@Aaron88_7

I'm old enough to remember watching the Panama Invasion unfold on TV.

Don't get so defensive about your demi-god Obama.

If you want to see personal videos from Iraq of "firing a gun without proper authorization".... I have a hard drive full.

[citation][nom]jednx01[/nom]I have to admit that this is kind of amusing. That would be especially funny if this had been posted before the govt raided it and killed Osama Bin Laden... haha[/citation]

So, you implicitly trust the official story, or would you rather just discredit on those who question it?

Let's arrive at the raw facts. The reports of Osama Bin Laden being killed are unconfirmed. As such, there is as yet no independent analysis to substantiate the claims being made. All you're seeing is news reports, along with footage of people in New York looking for someone to blame under the guise of 'patriotism', whilst their country sinks even deeper into debt.

What does killing Osama Bin Laden actually achieve, other than to oil the cogs of the industrial military complex? Does it actually make America a safer place?

So what purpose does killing Bin Laden serve? Well, the ITN media openly states this alleged killing will be good for Obama's approval ratings, in the run-up to this re-election campaign. I'll let your draw your own conclusions.

Speaking of atrocities. You've already got a war zone on your own soil, with millions of people having entered the US illegally, with a seemingly incompetent administration that avoids tackling the issue head-on in order to quell the bloodshed. Huge areas of land have been raped and pillaged to provide for the needs of an exploding population growth. Even the administration's own reports can't even paper over the cracks when dealing with the scale of this problem, but like Bush you seem to lack the balls to represent the needs and wishes of the American people..

Whilst the US is knee-deep in debt, with a border situation that is allows practically anyone to stroll in and wreck mayhem, Obama turns up long-lost enemies who vanish along with their testimony. All this just prior to Obama's re-election campaign, and at a time when his long-lost birth certificate finally turns up, creating a storm amongst the Adobe Illustrator community.

Still, keep sending American soldiers to fight people overseas, in places you'll never visit. Sit at home safe in the knowledge that everything you see on the TV is real. Vote for Obama again "because he's black" and because he is "trendy". Reap as you sow.

The only people on the defensive are republicans still trying to figure out a way to criticize Obama. It's pretty amusing when the haters can't even admit it when he does a kick ass job, that really just proves how infuriating this news must be to these people!

Explain to me how he's doing a "kick ass" job. He simply gave the go ahead on the assassination (per chain of command).

The people doing the kick ass jobs our our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers in the intelligence and armed forces.

The news is welcomed and nearly 20 years overdue.

Why is obama getting credit for something when he basically said, "ok go for it" and thats it? Why not give credit to the people that gathered the information, did the work and finally took him out instead?

False. The Intel gathered for this operation started in 2007. Who was president then? In early 2009 the intel gathered located the first "couriers" of Bin Laden. Now two years later, Obama is in the cat bird seat as all the pieces fell into place from YEARS in the making.

It is most amusing watching drones already attempt to revise history on this great period in not only American history, but global history.

You clearly have no idea how different things would have turned out had something gone wrong. This wasn't such a simple decision as you naively think it is. We had 8 years of unplanned decisions, your old age appears to be greatly affecting your memory grampa!

For someone in his early 20s, you need climb your way out your delusional hole you're living in. What you're reading/watching from the mostly liberal press is half truths at best.

You want to know what happened? You want to know what decisions were hard or simple? Go to the CIA, Seal Team 6, and their COs. Obama did nothing, but authorize the strike as per chain of command.
