Solved, under these conditions anyway. After much experimentation with my analog tv and set top converter box for ota reception. Simple, reset my Zinwell #ZAT970A to "Factory Default" from menu. I suspect the box could not cope with these stations converting their signal to HD. Probably too specific to help anyone who happened to have the same situation.
