i have a tv that the coax input decided to. Stop working. I have a DAT box from Comcast that is between the wall jack and the tv. I have tested that and all cables and all are good on another tv.

I was looking at coax to Hdmi or coax to rca type devices but seem to have muddled my brain in what I need and if something will work.

I've seen lots of suggestions about vcrs but I think the DAT box overcomes that. The DAT box only has coax in and out. I don't really want to give Comcast more of my money or buy a new tv.

Any suggestions or solutions?

It seems that the DAT box is a Quam tuner (you tune channels with its' remote) but since it outputs to your TV tuner it doesn't have a video out but a channel 3 RF output. You can't convert that to HDMI and maintain an HD picture.
You might be able to replace it with a QAM tuner that has HDMI outputs like this one

You would have to try it to see if it will work.
