I have 2 HDD's : 1 SATA and 1 IDE (which is not being recognised by the motherboard). When disconnecting everything except the IDE HDD, the mobo passes the POST test but when looking for HDD's stops for a bit with HDD activity light steady on. After that, it tells about no proper boot device (eventually). Also the HDD activity light flashes in a 1 long 6 short pattern. CPU is some kinda Celeron at stock freq.

Either your drive has a problem, or the ribon cable connecting it to your board is bad. Have you tried another IDE drive, or try to swap the cable with a new one? Is the power cable from the PSU connected to you drive?

ik that the HDD is bad but i am just curious to know what does this mean (not the general drive failure)
