We purchased a soundbar - Panasonic SC-HTB200 day before yesterday and are trying to connect it with LG TV

ports on soundbar : optical, HDMI ARC

ports on TV : HDMI (standard), Audio Jack 3.5mm and Audio video (not sure what it is called but the red, white and yellow ports)

We use a set-up box and Amazon fire stick both connected on the HDMI port of the TV. We mainly want to connect the soundbar to the TV for fire stick.

Things we tried:

HDMI cabled direct connect : doesnt work (identifies the soundbar as an additional device)
HDMI splitter : doesnt work (connected the fire stick on one side and other side the HDMI cables one going to the TV and other to the soundbar)
Audio connector (coaxial or toslink digital to analog) : doesnt work ( connected the optical cable from soundbar to the Audio connector and connected the coaxial cable from connector to the TV)

The only option we now think of is a connector which has HDMI and Audio 3.5mm cable. To connect the soundbar to the connector and then the audio jack into the TV.

Solution
The simplest way to connect that TV to that soundbar is to get an analog to digital converter.
https://www.amazon.com/SANOXY-Analog-Digital-Converter-Adapter/dp/B005F20756
You will need a cable with a 3.5mm stereo plug at the TV end and two RCA plugs at the TV end. You will need an optical audio cable to connect the converter to the soundbar. Check the TV manual on how to turn on and use the optical output. You may need to turn it on, turn the TV speakers off, and change the audio to PCM stereo.
You could also use an HDMI input selector with audio extraction but that won't work for the built in OVA tuner or smart functions built into the TV.
Or you can return that soundbar and get one that has an aux input.

Hi Thank you! Have challenge here. Under the TV settings for Audio output I have only two options either TV speaker or Headphone. I cant really make any other changes to the TV settings. So may be just the cable like you mentioned which has a 3.5mm stereo on one end and two RCA plug on the other side will work.

Even this option didnt work, it cuts the TV speaker sound and automatically selects the headphone option on the TV in Audio output. However, there is not audio output from the Soundbar.

Any other solution ? or is it time to accept that the TV and soundbar are not compatible!
