PC Speakers Problem

I have a pair of speakers on my pc,but only one work.they have two cables which you connect to a big thing which makes the bass and then this thing has a jack cable you connect on pc...If i put the cable of my one speaker which is not working into the hole of the other working speaker,the speaker works but then the previously working speaker stop works.

What can i do to make both speakers work?

Sounds like the amplifier inside the subwoofer for that channel is broken. Could also be the jack itself for that speaker to connect to the sub.
