Phone Prices Increase, Plans Change...?

I see that the plans changed, but the VX7000 went up in price (less
rebate) by $30 and the Motorola V265 looks like it got more expensive.

What else changed? What gives? What will change by mid-March when I
switch?

Dan, Dan, Dan...all you can anticipate from any cell company is that the
customer will be screwed.

The most likely source of equipment price changes is the value of the US
dollar.

I wouldn't get my panties that twisted. Phone prices go up and down all of
the time as rebates or incentives are added or expire.

Buy it when you think it's cheapest. Verizon certainly won't let you know.

They got me real good this evening. By extending my contract for 17 days,
I get to pay the same amount of money and go from 600 minutes to 1000
minutes, and they gave me a $20 credit for no apparent reason. (I have
a family shareplan with 3 lines).

I too took advantage of 300 more minutes for $20/month less than I
am paying now on a 4 phone family plan.

However those on the next higher family share plan than mine would
have had to take a 500 minutes per month reduction.

Your $20 "credit" may be due to the $9.99 cost of add a phone instead
of $20.

He just asked if I would be willing to extend my contract which was
due to expire 12/31/05 to 01/17/06, and said I'd be given a $20
credit as well. Since I was changing things I expected that the end
date would have to change. I didn't ask why the credit was being
given, but I have no problem with them giving me money back. I
am very much looking forward to getting screwed more often like this :)

LOL...that means the phone has appreciated. Maybe if you pull out the
original Verizon branded cell phones (or maybe even BAM) they'll
actually be worth more now than when you bought them.

I would be careful to be sure that it extended until 01/17/06 instead of
01/17/07.

It was 06 - we went over it twice. Not that it particularly matters as
I'll probably be taking advantage of new every two in the next few months
anyway.
