Phone Torch get switched on when Battery is connected

My phone went into water , and now even after drying it, when i am connecting the battery, the torch gets switched on.
Even tried to hard boot but nothing worked as of now

Sounds like it isn't dry. Did you make sure to open it up, take out the battery, SD and SIM cards and leave it to dry for days. Yes, I said days. If not, then you may well have already damaged something.
