Sorry folks, but when you become a card carrying member of the Apple fanboy club, you can unlock features of your iPhone through iTunes that turn your iPhone into a pocket super computer, photography studio, CGI render farm right in the palm of your hand, and that's without an internet connection... it's truly the best thing man has created since Stonehenge... somewhere I went from the sublime to the ridiculous, or is all this, "Apple's the best thing eva"... if you're a sheep, you're a sheep, Apple sheep, Dell Sheep, HP sheep, eco sheep, oil drilling sheep, commerce, wall street, whatever, the bobble head phenomenon and willful cultism surrounding anything speaks more of our own gullibility more so that the item/issue in question.

It takes skill to take good photos.

An avg person won't be able to take a great photo with a $5000 camera, but a skilled person can get something out of a $100 camera.

When I'm at clubs or parties, I'll offer to take photos for them with their camera... and they usually like the results :)

hey dumasses, just don't read the apple news if you don't it. I'm sorry to be rude, but they even made a button on Tom's so you don't have to view any Apple news...why not just use it and quit whining?
Honestly, I have 3 pc's and a mac -- I love them all. I use my mac as my main system, but am in the process of putting together a pretty beefy render pc as well. I'm no die-hard for either -- and there's no reason to bash, whine, complain, etc about either. If you say the Apple 'fanboys' are arrogant and obnoxious...sit back for a minute and listen to yourselves, too.
Again, not flaming...but this same thing day-in and day-out is honestly ridiculous -- you don't have to click on the article...and you can avoid seeing the articles all together by simply clicking the button provided.

Exactly, it is getting ridiculous - what is so special about these god damn phones! The amount of articles that Toms post's regarding Apple and their stupid phones is ridiculous!

[citation][nom]mkrijt[/nom]uhmm..... so this proves what? Even with perfect lighting iPhone pics still suck...[/citation]

Yeah, it looks a bit soft, not sharp at all. Could have been photoshopped after the fact. Looks like some major anti-aliasing was done.

[citation][nom]zodiacfml[/nom]i'm sure they also used a real camera during the shoot. it's quite a waste to shoot everything just using the phone.anyways, this is still a reminder for those spending too much on equipment, expecting they will take better pictures. i know a lot of men and women who bought a nikon d90 which is really a serious camera.[/citation]

The D90 is kind of a beginner's DSLR camera. Someone would get that if they wanted to get into photography as a hobby or wanted to start into it seriously but didn't have the cash for the better models. (or just wanted to learn before spending more).

I have the older D50 myself. It's still great, and I agree with you that you still need good knowledge of lighting and angles to take good quality photos. If you're taking portraits indoors, you need studio lighting to get it done right. Incandescent won't cut it.

I know a few people who call themselves professional photographers (the definition of which is only that you make money off your services). Their photos are crap because they just don't understand lighting or have no artistic sense, taking standard, rigid, head-on mugshots.

[citation][nom]drapple[/nom]He kind of defeats his own point of saying equipment is not important by using thousands of dollars worth of lighting, studio space, retouchers and models.[/citation]
Exactly. Take away the lighting and make-up and this photo will look like any other amateur snapshot.

Also, you don't want to look at these pictures any bigger than they are presented here because the image quality will fall apart.

[citation][nom]bob_white[/nom]Firefox girl is way better then this one[/citation]

Ohh you have such a grand point there...i would read articles of her all day mann :)

Complete 3MP crap.
Why use crappy material when you can get an extremely decent DSLR for next to nothing?

[citation][nom]ruffopurititiwang[/nom]Way too grainy![/citation]

Yep. I spent a lot of time, looking VERY closely at that picture, and I see your point.

I'll keep checking out that pic for more defects. It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it.

[citation][nom]mook33[/nom]hey dumasses, just don't read the apple news if you don't it. [/citation]
Dude.. did you look at your own post?... dumbass :)
