The Dynamic range on that photo shoot is a little to low. The highlights are blown out, floodlighting didn't help that, ruining the tonal range of the skin. The floodlights were needed to help compensate the small CMOS sensor. Forget that its 3mp camera, its the size of the sensor and quality of the sensor, too much interpolation on tiny cell phone sensors. I have seen a number of point and shoot cameras at 3mp take better shots.
The Photoshop skills are ok with what material he had to work with. However, a simple shadow and highlight filter would have worked better on the photos, the dress should not change from black to blue in one picture, causing the whole photo to change to a blue tint, to much over compensation.
The moral of the story, no cell phone camera with a tiny pin hole sensor is ever going to replace a studio quality camera, maybe closer to a low end point and shoot camera but still just shy off the mark.
