Picture only shows on TV

I connected my laptop to my TV through HDMI but I can only see the picture on my TV. Please help.

On your laptop, you have a function key that will toggle between video display modes (internal only, internal/external, and external only). For my Alienware, it is on the F6 key. Pressing that will change the modes.

Look on the laptop's keyboard for a Function-key combination that changes screen modes. Conversely, right mouse-click the Windows Desktop and choose Screen Resolution and see if you see options for extending or cloning your Desktop.
