Hi
i'm planning on making my own custom poster on vista print and it says the image will not print well because of resolution problems and that it might be blurry is there anyway to fix this?
i would appreciate some help
thank you

Well, there are a zillion free ones.
paint.net is probably the easiest.

Install and run that.
Using a COPY of your image, play around with it.
Increase the size of your image, and see how it looks. It may or may not be too fuzzy.

Ultimately, for a poster of that size, vistaprint wants a better quality, larger x-y and DPI image than what you are sending them.

You're probably starting with an image that is too small.
Blow it up to 'poster size', and it WILL be blurry.

What is the X Y size of the original image?

For that size print, vistaprint wants:
Document Trim Size (final size after being cut)
24.00" x 36.00"
61 x 91.4 cm
3600 x 5400 pixels

Resolution
150 DPI
----------------------------------------------------
Anything less than that may be 'fuzzy'

In Windows Explorer, find that image, right click and select Properties
Select the Details tab
It will tell you the DPI (dots per inch)

For a poster that size, it needs to be a larger source image.

What image editing software do you have?
