I agree with you. Many of these posters failed to read and comprehend the article. Its looks like they just skimmed the first few paragraphs then headed immediately to the comments section to voice their uninformed opinion. There was even a poster who said this guy might not of "done the right think" and taken training on a simulator, when the article stated specifically he logged in many hours during off time at this companies simulator.
People also skimmed over the fact that he was already a licensed commercial pilot, meaning big cargo planes and the proper training that goes with it. This isn't an unlicensed novice pilot wanna-be we're talking about, its a licensed commercial pilot who's didn't renew his previous license. I have absolutely no idea why he didn't just take the test and get a new license done up, would of saved massive amounts of head ache.
