Pioneer receiver behind glass - need IR advice

Dear reader.

I have a very nice Pioneer receiver SC-LX58 tucked away behing a colored glass cabinet. I have a problem with the remote which does not work well.

I see that at the back there are three IR inputs, OUT - IN 1 and IN 2. I have searched high and low for an extra remote receiver to place on to of my cabinet. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

The owners manual states that Xantech or Niles IR receivers are compatible.
